Drop-Shotting For Picky-Overfished Bass

There is a fairly new technique when it comes to bass fishing but it works great especially when bass are under a lot of pressure, it’s called drop-shotting. When you see other fishermen using worms and fishing the edges of creek channels, try this and fish the bottom of the channels instead of the edges. It’s also good around boat docks and bridges and in shallow water when the bass are bedding.

When fishing the bottom of a channel try a small worm hook with a 3/16 ounce sinker. If you have one already a bullet sinker you are using for worm fishing works great. Don’t drag the bait or hop it, shake it, you know jiggle it in place.

When bass are on their beds try flipping a tube with 25 pound test line and a 1/2 ounce weight. This is also an excellent way to fish light line as it lets your lure have more natural action.

Here is what you need to rig a drop shot:

A small worm hook and an 1/8 to 1/2 ounce bullet sinker like you use to worm fish. Tie the hook on your line using a palamar knot and leave enough line after the knot for the depth you want the sinker below it. Tie the bullet weight at the bottom of the line and peg it with a toothpick.

It’s that easy.

Charles E. White has fished for almost 50 years for bass from California to Florida. In his lifetime, it is estimated that he has caught over 6,000 bass. His biggest bass is a 12 pound 14 ounce that hangs on his wall in his office.

Charles has fished with people who have never fished for bass before and taught them how to become successful anglers and also has fished with the Pros in Florida.

Discover Fishing Lores

Projected to look like a fish prey item, a fishing lure
is something that is used in unpaid fishing that comes tied to a fishing line. The lure is said to catch the
fish’s attention by the movements, oscillations and colour of the lure and make it bite the fishing hook.
Frequently single, double and even treble hooks are tied to the lure to hook the fish when they bite it. These are normally used with a fishing rod and a fishing
reel. There are distinct types of fishing lures that are used
in recreational fishing. Majority of them is designed in distinct ways to imitative fish prey, although cases may be made to invoke anger, curiosity or territorial aggressiveness of the fish.

What is Jig?

A jig is a very popular fishing lure which accommodates a hook weighted with a
lead head in front of the sharp tip. The trick is to cover them with a plastic worm to win the attentionof the fish although in reality, the rod will
have to be moved in order to motion the jig. Moreover, there are various jigs fashioned
for unique roles such as jigs made for casting or flipping, bucktail jigs which are
made out of bucktail hair, jigs for grass beds or vegetation and swimming jigs which are made single for swimming though grass and open
water.

Learn about Spinnerbaits

These cables that are bent to an angle of 60 degrees makes the whole thing spin. These own one or more metal blades that are projected to spin as a propeller when the lure moves through the water and produce flash and vibration or motion similar to a small fish. Several of these spinnerbaits are produced to be used in domains with heavy cover such as, grass, logs and stumps.

Discover Surface Lures

Another kind of popular fishing lures used in amateur fishing
is surface lures. They are also known as top water lures because they are designed to be adrift on the water while
waddling on the water surface before being regained by the user. These drives depicts prey such as frogs and small fish therefore, a full grown fish would happily receive the lure ending up on the hook.

Spoon Lures

Spoon lures use a fairly exciting method to draw in fish; it is made out of metal and has a concave, spoon
like shape which shines light and moves randomly to attract fish. Juilo T. Buel invented the spoon lure in
about 1848 and the primary design of the lure has remained same throughout the days. Furthermore, the fishermen conceive that $[color variants of the
lure$] help to increment catch. That is why colors such as silver and gold are plated on the lures to make it more live.

Whale Becomes Stuck on Hayling IslandHayling Island Has a WhaleYou Won’t Believe the Size of the Catch on HaylingWhaley Sorry to See You

The other day,an heroic thing happened on little old Hayling Island. There was a 8 metre long whale beached on some mudflats just to the north of Hayling in Langstone Harbour, Hampshire.

Alas, the whale had suffered from severe dehydration, which caused it to be suffering from renal failure, when it became immobilized on Sunday night.

There was a tremendous saving arrangement, where individuals tried tirelessly to salvage the Northern Bottlenose whale’s life. At one point the trained medics felt that the had to issue a lethal injection to put the whale to sleep. Still, the whale then swam out to sea once again. Unfortunately, it came back towards the harbor again and was beached for a second and terminative time.

The trained vets concluded that the only compassionate thing to do would be to issue the lethal injection, which they did on Friday morning. They used Immobilon, which was a very prompt and lethal strength of anaesthetic.

If the mammal wasn’t put to sleep, the experts believe that it would have taken about two further days for the whale to die, during which it would have stayed sick and distressed.

It seemed bizarre that the six metric ton mammalian, which is commonly found about 3000 miles away, ended up here on Hayling Island, but it is another wonderful story that this south coast little island, called Hayling brings to its history.

There were around a dozen firefighters, police, coastguard personnel as well as members of the Hayling Island harvour lifeboat staff involved in the attempt.
