Brown Rice Diet: an Excellent Detox Diet

A 7 day brown rice diet is one of the easiest forms of body cleansing for the inexperienced because it furnishes the body with nutrients, cleanses the body in a gentle way (thereby causing lighter detox side effects) and doesn’t involve food deprivation as a juice fast can.

According to the brown rice diet detox program, you only eat brown rice for five to seven days. You don’t have to worry about being hungry or suffering the jitters. It’s acceptable to flavour season your brown rice with Bragg’s Amino Acids, similar to soy sauce but much healthier as it only contains natural sodium. A tablespoon of miso with ginger powder and garlic powder will also give your brown rice diet a little diversity. Other seasoning herbs are also suitable, but be sure not to overdo it. For a little heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper. You can also use a little brown rice syrup, maple syrup or agave nectar for a slightly sweet alternative. Only do this once a day, if at all.

In order to maintain good blood sugar levels, eat 5 or 6 small portions of brown rice during the day. For convenience, you can make one or two day’s worth of rice at one time. Learn how to cook brown rice.

Be sure to drink 3 to 4 quarts of water a day. This can include unsweetened herbal teas as well. Peppermint is a wonderful tea, red clover tea will support cleansing and a laxative tea at bedtime will help keep your colon moving.
