Obamarama Challenge

Bluefire online poker has reached a new level for lobbying against for the cause of legalizing online poker in the US as a game of skill rather than a game of chance. The nonwagering poker training site offered a challenge and a wager to U.S. President Barack Obama or any member of congress. Bluefire will put up 1,000,000 dollars to one dollar if the president or any member of congress will take up a game of online poker against some of their poker pros. The point is not about the money, or even about the publicity. No, Bluefire is trying to change the perception of poker in the eyes of the legal system. Their insistent plea: poker is a game of skill, and not of chance. And that one with skill will oust blind luck everytime. And they are so confident in this assertion that they’re willing to offer 1 million to one odds that they’ll be proven true in this game. With poker being a pastime for millions, and even a job for some, Bluefire is more than confident that with such a highstakes game for such little investment will open the public eye to the truth about hold’em. Mainly that the true pros do in fact know what they’re doing. That while it may be a game, it’s a game of skill that can be played with the same amount of skill as any other sport or game that involves some element of chance. I mean, regardless of whether or not there is some element of chance, it’s still the skill that dictates the winner.
