If you want to get into a fun sport that will allow you to get plenty of exercise, get into shape, and offer you challenges that you won’t find elsewhere - all while enjoying an abundance of nature - you might want to start thinking about mountain bikes. Mountain biking is a popular sport that has been around for numerous years, but recently, with the new technology that goes into the manufacturing of today’s mountain bikes, there seems to be a new interest in this sport.
If the sport of mountain biking isn’t something that you know a lot about, you may have the wrong idea about the sport. You’ve seen the mountain bikers on the television sports channels jumping obstacles and racing down dirt trails - and racing is one aspect of mountain biking. However, racing is not required. In fact, most mountain bikers don’t race at all.
Mountain biking for most people can be compared to hiking. The point is to get out, get exercise, and experience nature. Yes, there will be obstacles to maneuver around on them more advanced trails, but many people are just out for the pleasure of riding in nature - just like hikers are out to enjoy the walk and the nature. Some mountain bikers are leisurely riders. Some like the challenges that they face out on the trails - but they aren’t in any hurry. Other’s like both the challenges and the racing! The path you choose is up to you.
With this new light on the sport of mountain biking, you may now be interested in getting involved in this sport. Maybe you want to lose weight. Maybe you just want to get more exercise. Then again, maybe you like the thought of enjoying nature, but you aren’t big on walking, and prefer to ride. No matter what your reasons for your interest are, you will definitely need a mountain bike - finding a place to ride it is the easy part.
As a beginner, you really won’t have any idea what you need in the way of a mountain bike. Therefore, it is in your best interest to buy a very basic, yet sturdy, mountain bike that can be upgraded at a later date. Visit your local bike dealer, and talk to them. Let them know that you are just starting out, and that you want a basic bike that you can upgrade later. If they try to sell you something expensive - more than $500 - walk away and visit a different store.
You might also consider purchasing a used bike from a private individual. Used bikes can be found online, through the printed classifieds, and even through bike dealers. Look around your area - and online - to see what is available.
Before making a purchase, it is always a good idea to talk to other mountain bikers. Ask them what bike they started with, and what they would suggest for you. The best information you will find will come from the people who are already deeply into the sport.
Once you’ve made a purchase, you need to find a place to ride. Are there any state parks or national forests in your area? Are there wooded areas that aren’t fenced off? These are ideal places to ride. However, you should never ride on private property without permission. If you can’t think of any place that might have bike trails, do a little research online. Type in ‘bike trails in Alabama’ or ‘mountain bike trails in Georgia’ or whatever state you live in into the search box of any search engine, and you will find quite a bit of information!
Look for sites that offer reviews of bike trails that you want to visit. These reviews will save you a lot of time, and help you avoid the trails that either aren’t worth your time, or aren’t suited to your skill level. Reading is actually a big part of mountain biking if you are a beginner! You should also consider purchasing a few mountain bikes videos. These videos will help you learn the basics before you set off on a trail!
Mt-bikes.com provides you with information on mountain bike reviews, trek mountain bikes, giant mountain bikes, mountain bike holidays and specialized mountain bikes. In short Mt-bikes.com is your #1 mountain bikes resource! http://www.mt-bikes.com/

The easiest way to get an amazing Las Vegas room upgrade, besides just asking for it, is to try what is known as the $20 trick. There are several variations to the proper way this is done. The idea is upon check in you hand a $20 bill discreetly under your credit card to the clerk and politely ask for an upgrade. Once you learn the proper way to use this technique you’ll see why I call this, the best bet outside of the casino.
One way to phrase this request is to casually ask the clerk “if you have any upgrades available I would really appreciate it, my (Fill in the blank) and me are celebrating (Fill in the blank).” You wouldn’t believe the amount of times this has worked to my amazement.
On many occasions after reserving the most inexpensive room rate I’ve been upgraded to a suite using this easy maneuver. What a way to impress your loved one when you open the door to your upgraded suite and a few minutes later the champagne arrives. If you haven’t already, try it, you’ll be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner.
Just remember the key ingredients to getting an upgrade are to smile, act friendly, and ask the clerk if what you want is available. It’s pretty cool to think that a simple smile and a $20 can still go a long way in Vegas.
If you’re asking yourself “what if the clerk takes the cash and doesn’t upgrade me?” In that case you’ve just lost your first bet in Vegas.
Now if the thought of parting with a $20 is too much to bear, I suggest you leave the casino immediately and go back to where you came. However, for the savvy tippers there’s another strategy. It’s simply to ask the clerk if any complimentary upgrades are available while keeping a $20 bill visible. This way if they quote you a price for an upgrade, you can politely decline and keep the dough. But, if they do upgrade your stay for free, you can hand over the cash with no qualms and everybody’s happy.

Integrating weight training into your regular exercise program can and does assist in fat burning and weight reduction for two significant reasons. The first reason being the muscle fiber type or types that are employed and the second reason is an explicit increase in metabolic rate.
Weight training, or as some refer to as strength or resistance training, should be consistently performed at a minimum of 3 times per week.
Although a skilled-personal trainer can prescribe a condition-appropriate program for you, as a rule of thumb it is recommended that a minimum of one set per exercise for each major muscle group be performed. Even more effective is the performance of several peak-intensive compound (multi-muscle) exercises. The major muscle groups are the chest, quadriceps, abdominals, hamstrings, low-back, upper back, biceps, triceps, neck and shoulders.
Each exercise should consist of about 8-20 repetitions, done in a slow, controlled manner, while emphasizing proper form and joint position. The resistance should fatigue the muscle group near the end of the set.
Simply put, the muscle fibers are the fundamental element of the muscle. The three types of muscle fibers are: slow twitch (slow oxidating (SO) or type I), fast twitch (Fast oxidative - glycolyme (FOG) or type IIA) and pure fast twitch (FT or
Type IIB). Slow twitch fibers get most of their energy from fat burning, a process that requires oxygen. This is also fueled by the fibers’ ample supply of blood vessels, glycogen, mitochondria (cellular furnaces where fat and nutrients are
burned) and the blood fats inside of various related cells. The pure fast twitch fibers are dissimilar in that they contract rapidly and fatigue easier. These fibers get their energy from burning glycogen. There are fewer mitochondria in the
cells that compose fast twitch fiber; therefore, these fibers burn less fat than slow twitch fibers.
Similarly yet distinctively, the fast twitch fibers do also contract rapidly, but sustain a greater level of endurance. This may be because they have more mitochondria than the pure fast twitch fibers, but less than the slow twitch fibers. By far the most remarkable benefit of peak or high intensity weight training (or extended duration aerobics) is that you can change pure fast twitch fibers into regular fast twitch oxidative fibers. This particular variety of high intensity weight training activity increases the amount of mitochondria in the fast twitch fibers to levels much higher than those found in the slow twitch fibers. And as you might have guessed, with more mitochondria present and employable in the muscle cells, more fat is burned. This is the key to weight management.
Your metabolism and the rate at which it functions represents the amount of energy you need on a daily basis to sustain your life functions. Even when lounging or sleeping, muscle tissue is very active and can require up to 45 calories per pound per day. Therefore, losing muscle (muscle atrophy) or more
specifically not maintaining muscle results in a decline in your metabolic rate. Subsequently, with less muscle, your body requires less energy.
Food (nutrients) once used as energy is now stored as fat. A prudent, long term and consistent weight training program is the greatest contributor to avoiding a decrease in lean muscle mass and overall metabolic rate, as well as metabolic and body systems function diminution. Commencing a regular weight training program can and should take some effort. But no matter what your age or level of conditioning might be, weight training will fuel an abiding lifestyle and add longevity, functionality and vitality to your
life.

1) Know Your Purpose.
Know your vision, your goals, and your plans because these help you set priorities. Each day, identify the task you must accomplish and make that your top priority. Also, set aside time to invest in your future, working on important things that you will need later. If you have yet to write out your priorities, then take time to do this. It could be the most important hour that you spend in your life.
2) Say No.
Be fiercely protective of your time. Make sure each new commitment adds value for you. Do what is necessary and then stop. Rather than ask yourself “What can I do?” ask “What can I not do?” Avoid low value tasks, new projects, and distractions. Then tell people about your decisions. Huge amounts of effort are wasted by people trying to complete tasks that someone else decided to ignore.
3) Schedule Life.
Even if you ride an accelerating treadmill you can step off once in a while. Leave work at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Take Saturday or Sunday off. Give yourself a two minute break when you close your eyes, rub your neck, or meditate. Set a date with family members for a meal or an activity (hint: put this date on your calendar as if it were an important business appointment, because it is).
4) Protect Yourself.
When you’re tired, your efficiency falters. Thus, eat healthy foods. Get enough sleep. Avoid toxic habits. Exercise (use the stairs, do crunches or push ups in your office, take a five minute yoga break). If possible, schedule exercise as if it were a business appointment.
5) Be Efficient.
Spend time only with people who add value to your life. Buy only from companies that provide adequate support. Hold effective meetings. Decline invitations to meetings without an agenda (I guarantee these will accomplish nothing). Avoid conflicts; they always cost time to repair. Keep your cool; anger always costs you more than what it achieves. Take a moment to plan before starting a task.

Your advertising plan should be a vital part of your marketing plan. You have an excellent service or a useful product and you need to let people know what you have to offer! People learn about your business through advertising. Because successful advertising is creative and innovative, the creative person has a distinct advantage in developing an effective strategy.
Advertising can be expensive, so you must be specific in identifying the objectives of your plan. Each home-based business is unique, but the fundamental objectives for advertising should include creating a public awareness of your business, reaching new customers, increasing sales and profits and being cost effective.
The first step is to define potential customers in the geographic area served by your business. Do some preliminary surveys and some interviews to determine which means of advertising will reach them. What newspapers do they read? Which radio stations do they listen to? Do they use discount coupons? Do they respond to direct mail? Tailor your advertising efforts to your market.
When you know which audience you want to reach and where you want the information to appear, you must look at the various methods of advertising available to you. Advertising methods differ according to medium, complexity, target audience and cost. Some forms of advertising are more effective for a home-based business than others.
1. Newspaper advertising can be effective for a small business. A relatively large number of people can be reached through a classified ad. Display ads are more costly and should be placed in the newspaper section read by your market. The cost of your ad will vary according to the circulation areas and the frequency of publication.
2. Direct mail while initially expensive can be economical in the long run because it delivers specific information in a personal way to large numbers of people. If you operate a mail-order business, direct mail advertising is especially appropriate because you can target your advertising. Direct mail can be used to distribute letters, promotional give-aways, discount coupons and brochures.
3. Brochures can be expensive but they are essential for any business for which the prospective customer needs detailed information about the qualifications and expertise of the owner and the services and products offered. More information can be supplied in a brochure than would be practical for a classified ad. Brochures can be mailed, distributed door to door or given out at community events and trade shows.
4. Yellow Page directories should not be overlooked as a means of advertising. Every person with a telephone has a copy of their local phone book with business Yellow Pages. Directories are one of the most widely used forms of advertising. The telephone company advertising staff will give you help in designing an ad that will present your business in an effective manner. Be aware that directories are published at various times of the year. Call the phone company to determine the publication deadlines. A home-based business may wish to omit the address from the ad. Phone calls can be screened and clients can be scheduled so the neighborhood is not disrupted by an increased flow of traffic.
5. Business cards are another inexpensive way to inform the public about your business. They are easy to distribute at meetings, upon the completion of a job or during networking. Think of your business card as a “mini-billboard.” It should contain the name of your business, the name of a contact person, the complete address, the complete phone number and an appropriate slogan or description of the business.
6. Promotional gimmicks are inexpensive give-aways that attract attention. For example, pens inscribed with your logo, balloons with your business name or t-shirts can be used to promote your product or service.

The Club Cal Neva sports book is located on the bottom floor of the Nugget Casino. Down stairs there is a nice bar, bingo parlor, horse bet racing section, a deli, and many big screens to watch the games. When staying at the Nugget this is an easy walk back and forth to the Silver Club.
This is the sports book if you are looking for all the betting options and want a clean atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and you never have to ask for a drink toke. The lines can get long right before a game so get your bets down early or get ready to walk over to the Silver Club. The Club Cal Neva sportsbook has the best odds on the parlay cards and carries money lines on most games. You can also expect to see a first half and a second half line for all the games. The action is endless through out the Nugget. They have every table game and over 1,000 machines for your enjoyment. The restaurants are very good in the Casino and the rooms are very clean.
The only down side to staying at the Nugget is if you are a bargain shopper you will not get any deals on the rooms here. The Nugget does not believe in lowering the room rates, a small price to pay for such a great hidden gem in Northern Nevada.
The Nugget and the Silver club anchor downtown Sparks. Sparks has done a great job of remodeling downtown and offers many great events through out the year. Most of the events play out on Victorian Avenue between the Silver Club and John Ascuaga’s Nugget Casino. There is a great water fountain right outside the Movie Theatre, which sits 200 yards to the sides of the two casinos.

What are the Benefits of Radiant Heating and how do they compare to other heating applications?
You maybe be considering radiant heat to install into your existing or your new home but don’t quite understand the advantages or the differences between heating applications? Well we would like to inform you of the benefits and the comparisons to other heating applications available.
Some of the benefits of radiant heat are:
Comfort: Let your bare feet soak up the warmth of soothing heat without the dust and noise associated with other heating sources. Enjoy evenly distributed heat throughout your home kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and basement.
Custom Designed: Whether for supplemental floor warming, or total space heating, every system is custom designed to fit all rooms independent of their shape or size. These systems will heat under any surface including marble, slate, carpet, hardwood and tile. The compact Control Box will hang on the wall of your garage or in a utility room. No heating vents or ducts will be seen, and no furnace or boiler is required.
Perfect for Remodeling and Additions: The simplicity of the low voltage heating element makes this system incredibly easy to install in your remodeling or room addition application. No floor buildup is necessary and no additional construction costs are incurred. The unique heating element can also be installed in between floor joists to heat an existing floor or room.
Safe: So safe, in fact that nails, water, and even touching the heating element during operation will have no harmful effect! You will have peace of mind while loved ones play as the systems are tested to UL standards and run on worry-free, low-voltage energy (8 to 32 V.).
Reliable: The solid-state heating systems are virtually maintenance free and the heating element is backed with a 25 year industry-leading warranty. With no moving parts and advanced self-diagnosing technology, there is no need for yearly maintenance or service checks.
Efficient: Radiant heat is the most efficient form of heat available. Significantly less operating time is required to maintain the desired warmth compared to furnaces and other radiant heat systems, keeping operational costs to a minimal. Low-voltage radiant heating systems run 98% to 100 % efficiency at any elevation as they evenly heat every area of the room.
Convenient: Our accurate thermostats allow you to easily adjust the floor or air temperature of your space heating or floor warming system. You also have the option of programming the exact time of day you want your system to operate. Simply relax, enjoy the comfort, and know that your system will work for decades to come.
So lets compare to other heating applications. Radiant Heat versus other applications:
Radiant Heat vs. Hydronics at a Glance
Both electric and hydronic radiant heat systems have certain advantages for specific applications. The following highlights the advantages low voltage radiant heat systems have:
A Boiler Room is required to run a hyronic radiant heat system. A 17″x12″x7″ Control Unit is required to run low voltage radiant heat system.
Gypsum or concrete slab is required for installing a hydronic system. It is estimated that it costs approx. $4.00 or more per square foot to install a hydronics in-floor heating system than it does to install a in-floor heating system.
The ZMesh heating element is installed directly under the floor surface without any floor buildup. The 12″ wide ZMesh is rolled out over the area to be heated then nailed and/or stapled to the wood subfloor.
Electric radiant heat warms your floors evenly because it uses 100% of the system’s energy. A hydronic system, however, heats the floor less the further away the hot water gets from the boiler (see illustration below). Hydronic systems use only 65-85% of the system’s energy. At higher elevations, electric radiant heat still is 100% efficient, where as hydronic systems are even less effective than at sea level.
*For a complete diagram please refer to http://www.warmquest.com/radiant_hydronics.html
Radiant Heat vs. Hydronics at a Glance:
A room with floor Radiant In-Floor space heat will have a very uniform temperature from the ceiling to the floor. Heating a basement floor is the ideal application for our radiant heat systems. If you’ve lived in a house with forced air, you can crank the heat up, but the basement floor are still chilled. Installing a floor warming system will add comfort and warmth to your lifestyle.
A room heated with a forced air furnace will have cold floors and the warmest air at the ceiling. Although the air may be heated, the floors will be chilled and uncomfortable, especially for children playing on the floor.
